First VTL-Land bus arrives safely at Larkin Sentral Bus Terminal

The first bus from Singapore under the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) for land crossing (VTL-Land) arrived safely at the Larkin Sentral Bus and Public Transportation Terminal at 9.13am Monday.

Bernama reported that the first Causeway Link bus had left Larkin Sentral at 7.30am, bound for Queen Street in Singapore to pick up the first batch of travelers, especially Malaysians, under the VTL-Land programme that kicked off on Monday.

Meanwhile, the national news agency also said, in a tweet, that the first flight under the VTL-Air had arrived at KL International Airport at 9.20am Monday to a water cannon salute.

Under the VTL, fully vaccinated travellers can travel between Singapore and Malaysia but are subject to Covid-19 tests in lieu of serving quarantine or a stay-home notice.

The land border between Malaysia and Singapore has been closed since March 18, 2020, when both countries imposed movement restrictions to stem the spread of Covid-19.

Travellers coming into Malaysia using the VTL-Land need to register at mysafetravel.gov.my while travellers from Malaysia to Singapore are required to register at go.gov.sg/vtl-portal.

These registrations are compulsory before any ticket purchases are made. – Bernama
