Train from Bangkok to Khon Kaen Times and Fares
There is a choice of four trains from Bangkok to Khon Kaen or vice versa that make the 450-kilometre trip, mostly night trains, with just one train travelling through the daylight hours.

Ticket Prices / Fares for the Train from Bangkok to Khon Kaen
Rapid train numbers 133 / 134 are both night trains and are the cheapest way to travel from Bangkok to Khon Kaen and vice versa.
These services now only operate with 3rd class, fan cooled carriages.
Fares for these seats cost:
3rd class: Adult 187 THB – Child 149 THB
Trains 75 / 76 / 77 / 78 are Express Diesel Railcars (DRC) and have just second class air-conditioned seats or third class fan cooled seats available.
They cost:
2nd Class: Adult 399 THB – Child 310 THB
3rd Class: Adult 227 THB – Child 189 THB
Trains 25 / 26 are night trains with only sleeping berth coaches available, with comfortable first and second class beds in air-conditioned carriages.
These trains now operate with the new Chinese made coaches.

Child: Upper Berth 1,014 THB / Lower Berth 1,214 THB
2nd Class:

Arrival / Departure from Bangkok
The main train station in Bangkok is Hua Lamphong Railway Station and is the end of the line.
There are, however, a couple of other stations where you can either catch the train from or get off at when arriving in Bangkok or just go there to buy your tickets.
