The train from Bangkok to Hua Hin departs 11 times daily from Hualamphong station, taking
between 3.5 hours to 4.25 hours to cover the 229 km
distance and costs from 44 Baht for a seat in a 3rd Class Ordinary
train to over 1,000 for a 1st Class ticket.

There are also a few cheap Ordinary trains that depart from Bangkok’s Thon Buri Railway Station that travel to Hua Hin.


Catching the train from Bangkok to Hua Hin is the easiest way to travel
between the two cities with the railway station right in the middle of
Hua Hin and within an easy walk to dozens of hotels and the main beach
area in the centre of the city.

Travel from Bangkok to Hua Hin by bus may be faster, but the bus station in Hua Hin is quite a long way from
the main area of town, requiring a taxi ride to get you
back into the main tourist area of the city.

Regular buses from Bangkok to Hua Hin leave from the Southern Bus Terminal in Bangkok.

Another
alternative from taking the train from Bangkok to Hua Hin is to take a minibus.

This is the fastest way to travel from Bangkok to Hua Hin (apart from by taxi) and they drop you off close to the centre of town.

 Ticket Price for the Train from Bangkok to Hua Hin

Fares vary depending on the class of both train and seat, with prices starting at 44 Baht for the cheapest 3rd class seat, to over 1,000 Baht for a 1st class seat.

Each train can have many different seat prices as they are often made up of many different coach types, then there is the extra fee for air-conditioning.

The cheapest trains are the slower Ordinary trains, then it’s the Rapid, Express and the Special Express services.
