The Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) is using a Two-Tier Taxi Services system, involving both limousines provided by taxi concessionaire Airport Limo and city cabs to pick up passengers at the KLIA, to reduce waiting time for passengers to under 10 minutes.
Available at level 1 and 3 of the Main Terminal Building, the Metered Taxis offer an alternative for travellers to get around.
Overview of taxi services at KLIA
Passengers have the choice of buying a coupon and using the airport limo or a city taxi, for which fare can be paid based on the meter.
Passengers have to purchase RM2.00 coupon prior to boarding these taxis.
The standard taxi rate for a budget taxi is RM3.00 for the first 1km or first 3 minutes. And RM0.10 for each consequent 115 metres or consequent 21 seconds (50% surcharge from 12a.m – 6 a.m).
Taxi fares are then charged according to the meters travelled.

Operated by Airport Limo (M) Sdn. Bhd. (Airport Limo), the taxi and limo services at KLIA operate through a coupon system that you purchase at Airport Limo counters at:
- International Arrival Hall (just after Customs, before the public arrival area)
- Domestic Arrival Hall (public area after Domestic Baggage Clearance)
- Domestic Baggage Reclaim, Arrival Level

- RM6.00 for first 1 KM or first 2 minutes
- RM0.20 for each consequent 150 metres or consequent 45 seconds
- 50% surcharge from 12:00am – 6:00am
The RM2 paid will provide passengers with a ticket which will also serve as proof of travel.
This also facilitates a trace and track mechanism in the event of any payment dispute or in case items are lost or found.
