Repair works on the klia2 taxiways and apron are expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2016, 18 months after its opening.
Malaysian Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) chief executive Datuk Badlisham Ghazali said the repair works which started in June this year were about 25% completed.
“I feel we have reached 20% or 25% of the work that needs to be done … 75% more … but I’m sure the number will go down by the end of this year,” he told reporters here on Thursday.
He added that three maintenance crew teams were working “round-the-clock” to ensure that operations were not disrupted.
Badlisham was referring to repair works done on klia2’s taxiways, which gained attention after large pools of water – also known as “ponding” – appeared on parts there in late October this year.
