Malindo Air at the klia2

Malindo Air will start its 11-times weekly flights to Perth from Nov 11, the hybrid carrier said in a statement today.

It is mounting daily flights from klia2 at 8.25am, flying back from Perth at 3pm. The red eye flights from klia2 take off at 11.15pm on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. the four extra morning flights take off from Perth on these same days.

Ticket sales for this route will begin upon approval from Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia, said Malindo, which has been granted approval by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Australia.

Its promotional one-way fares for the new route start from RM599 for economy class and RM1,499 for business class one-way.

Malindo will mount the narrow-body Boeing 737-900ER aircraft on the route, with a seat capacity of 180 – 12 business class and 168 economy class seats.

Chief executive officer Chandran Rama Muthy said Perth is the carrier’s first Australian destination and will be the eighth country in its growing international route network.The 4,126km route will be covered in five hours and 50 minutes – becoming the furthest route from the carrier’s main hub in klia2 by distance.
