Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) will increase the number of new walkalators installations at Malaysia Airport klia2 to 25 units, more than originally planned, thus bringing the total number to 41 units.

“We had announced in 2014 that we will be installing an additional 16 units. Nevertheless, based on customer feedback, we have decided to increase it to 25 units,” said the airport operator in a statement in Kuala Lumpur today.

MAHB has already installed 16 walkalators.

“We hope that with the coming installation of new walkalators, it will address the comments that we have received on the walking distance at klia2. It will also enable the passengers to have more convenient travelling experience,” said MAHB.

At present, there are 15 buggies in full service and MAHB will be bringing in eight more by this year to add to the convenience, especially for the elderly and passengers with restricted mobility.

Meanwhile, its buggy service will continue to run as normal.

The Buggy Transfer service is available at Malaysia Airport klia2 every 10 minutes.

The Buggy pick up point will be as follow:

Internationa Departure

After the immigration counters:

  • Right side – To ferry passengers to L gates
  • Left side – To ferry passengers to end of skybridge

International Arrival

The Buggy will pick up passengers along P gates and Q gates.

Buggy will drop off passengers at the lift leading to arrival level of skybridge.

Another buggy will ferry passengers to end of skybridge.

Domestic Departure

Buggy will ferry passengers from escalator to J gates and K gates.

Domestic Arrival

Buggy will pick up passengers along J gates and K gates.

In addition, MAHB is continuously improving its signs and services rendered to the passengers.

One of which is the placement of its CARE Ambassadors (mobile hospitality officers) in and around the terminal to provide passengers with way finding and on-site customer service. – Bernama
