Lanmei Airlines is a local Cambodia air transport company based in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, “Lanmei” is an abbreviation for the Lancang-Mekong River.
Lanmei Airlines’ logo looks like a peacock spreading its tails. Lanmei Airlines chooses peacock as logo because it symbolizes propitious totem in both oriental and western culture. The six feather of the wings-like logo represents the six Greater Mekong River countries who are the community of shared destiny & shared river. The logo also looks like a rotating aircraft engine, implying to supply new and steady thrust to these six nations.
The start-up was founded in 2016 and it received in-principle approval from the Cambodian government.
The company plans to operate scheduled passenger services from Phnom Penh, using A320s Family.
Lanmei Airlines commenced four times weekly Phnom Penh-Hanoi and Phnom Penh-Siem Reap-Ho Chi Minh City services on 15 September 2017 and three times weekly Phnom Penh-Siem Reap-Macau-Phnom Penh service on 16 September 2017.
Lanmei Airlines and Cambodian MJ Airlines signed a strategic cooperation agreement in November 2018.
Over the years, it has started serving both domestic destinations and international destinations and it is committed to forging first-class and unique aviation service.
Lanmei Airlines commenced a new scheduled airline to Kuala Lumpur International Airport from May 28, 2022. It started with one weekly frequency and plans to subsequently increase to seven times weekly.
