
The KTM Komuter is the first electrified commuter train service in Malaysia. It was established in 1995 to provide passengers with extensive access to all locations in the Klang Valley.
The KTM Komuter network consists the Tanjung Malim – Port Klang Line, the Batu Caves – Tampin / Pulau Sebang Line and the new Skypark Link introduced in 2018.
The entire network covers more than 270km length of rail tracks and connects 57 stations, providing passengers a convenient local rail service throughout Kuala Lumpur and surrounding areas of the Klang Valley.
The KTM Komuter’s connectivity contributes an important role to the Klang Valley Integrated Transit system and it is a popular mode of transport to commute to Kuala Lumpur and to travel within the Klang Valley areas.
The trains used are air-conditioned electric multiple units. Passengers of the KTM Komuter can rest in the comfort coaches while being taken to their destinations at very reasonable fares.
Most KTM stations provide convenient ‘Park & Ride’ facilities at a nominal charge.
KTM Komuter’s tickets can be purchased at the ticketing counters or by using the self-service Ticket Vending Machine, which are available at all stations and halts.
The six-car Class 92s EMU (Electric Multiple Unit) trains are the most commonly used train for the KTM Komuter network.



Transfers between the two main lines can be made at any of the four stations on the central core:
The KL Sentral KTM station is the busiest station as it is located within the KL Sentral transportation hub.

Interchange with the LRT network can be done at the Bandar Tasik Selatan KTM station for the Sri Petaling line LRT, and at the Subang Jaya KTM station, the Kuala Lumpur KTM station, the Abdullah Hukum KTM station, or the KL Sentral KTM station for the Kelana Jaya line LRT.
Passengers may also transfer to the Ampang line LRT in the city centre at Bank Negara KTM station by means of a 200-metre covered walk to the Bandaraya LRT station.
Also, from the Putra KTM station, the PWTC LRT station is about 1km walking distance away.
To change to KL Monorail, passengers can stop at KL Sentral KTM station then take a 400 meters short walk to the KL Sentral monorail station.
Passengers opt for the MRT network can perform the interchange at Sungai Buloh KTM station to the Sungai Buloh MRT station, Kuala Lumpur KTM station to the Pasar Seni MRT station, KL Sentral KTM station to the Muzium Negara MRT station, and Kajang KTM station to the Kajang MRT station.

The KTM Komuter also services shopping complexes and recreational centres.
The Mid Valley KTM station was opened in 2004 and it is located just next to the Mid Valley Megamall.
A new pedestrian bridge was recently opened to allow the commuters at the Abdullah Hukum KTM station to walk 250 meters and reach the Mid Valley city.
The Subang Parade and AEON BiG Subang Jaya are nearby Subang Jaya KTM station and The MINES shopping mall is nearby Serdang KTM station.

The KTM Komuter contributed RM146.2 million to group revenue in 2017, carrying a total of 37+ million passengers.

Go to Shopping Malls
KTM Komuter has made shopping complexes and recreational centres more accessible. The Mid Valley KTM station, which opened in 2004 next to the Mid Valley Megamall, has proven particularly popular.
The pedestrian bridge that connects the Abdullah Hukum KTM station to the Mid Valley City is also a popular shortcut.

Other shopping centres located near KTM Komuter stations like Subang Parade and AEON Big Subang Jaya are located near Subang Jaya KTM station. The MINES shopping center is located near Serdang KTM station.
The Nu Sentral shopping mall is just about 400 meters walk away from the KL Sentral KTM station.
Mid Valley Megamall is a shopping mall in Mid Valley City, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It sits at the entrance of Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur. Developed by IGB Corporation, the complex was opened in 1999.

Stop at the Mid Valley KTM station and the Mid Valley Megamall is just short walking distance away.

Stop at the Abdullah Hukum KTM station and the Mid Valley city is just short 250 meters walking distance away.
The Mines is a modern mall built around a canal, with fashion and IT shops, restaurants and a rooftop water park. It is located at Seri Kembangan, Selangor.

Stop at the Serdang KTM Station and take RapidKL Bus U41 to fetch you to The Mines from the station.
Subang Parade is a shopping mall located in Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia. The building has over 200 stores at a space of approximately 1,169,038 square feet distributed in three floors.

Stop at the Subang Jaya KTM station and the Subang Parade shopping mall is just short walking distance away.
NU Sentral Shopping Centre is positioned as the first transumer (transit consumer) lifestyle retail mall in Malaysia. It is located at Kuala Lumpur Sentral Central Business District.

Stop at the KL Sentral KTM station and the Nu Sentral shopping mall is just next to KL Sentral transport hub.
Go to KLIA / klia2 Airport
Go to KLIA / klia2 – Currently, there is no direct connection from any KTM station to the KLIA / klia2 airport.
Instead, after reaching the designated KTM station, you will have to make use of another mode of transportation to go to the airport.

If you want to go to the klia2 / KLIA using KTM Komuter train, you can take the KTM Komuter train to the Nilai KTM station, and then hop on the Airport Liner shuttle bus to the klia2 / KLIA.
The KTM fees charged on traveling between KL Sentral KTM station and Nilai KTM station is RM7.00.
Alternatively, take the KTM Komuter and stop at the KL Sentral KTM station and then change and ride the KLIA Ekspres or KLIA Transit to klia2 / KLIA.
Connect to Transportation Hub in Kuala Lumpur
The major Transportation Hubs in the Kuala Lumpur city area are:

Transfer between KTM Port Klang Line and Seremban Line
Transfers between KTM Komuter lines – Transfers between two KTM Komuter lines (Port Klang Line and Seremban Line) can be done at the center core stations easily.
Transfers between the two main lines can be made at any of the four stations on the central core:
1 KL Sentral KTM station is located inside the Stesen Sentral Kuala Lumpur (KL Sentral). This KTM station is an interchange station for KTM Komuter’s Port Klang Line and Seremban Line, as well as the terminus for the Skypark Link since May 2018.

Go to Subang Skypark Terminal with the Skypark Link

The Skypark Link is a convenient, time saving and affordable train service that connects you from the KL Sentral KTM station, to the Subang Jaya KTM station, and finally to the Terminal Skypark station near the Subang Skypark Terminal.

The 2 main routes (vice-versa) are firstly the KL Sentral – Skypark Terminal route with 26km travel distance and secondly the Subang Jaya – Skypark Terminal route with 9km travel distance.
As the second airport rail link service, the Skypark Link route map transports passengers from KL Sentral to the Subang Airport.

If you take the KTM Komuter to the Subang Skypark Terminal, the KTM Komuter train will stop at the Terminal Skypark station.


Once you exit the station, you need to walk around an open car park and then walk on the pedestrian bridge to go to the airport.
