KTM Bukit Tengah Train Schedule (Jadual)
The KTM Bukit Tengah Raiilway Station (Stesen Keretapi Bukit Tengah) is a small stop located along the branch line between Butterworth and Bukit Mertajam in the state of Penang, Malaysia.
Currently the only trains that stop here are the KTM Komuter services that started operating in early 2016.
All the fast Electric Train Services (ETS) only stop at the nearby stations of Butterworth and BM.
Bukit Tengah Komuter Trains
Komuter services that originate from Butterworth Railway Station all stop at Bukit Tengah 7 minutes later, before continuing their journey north to the border with Thailand at Padang Besar Railway Station.
These cheap trains are a great way to travel around the north-western Malaysian states of Penang, Kedah and Perlis and operate every hour during morning and afternoon rush hour times and every two hours at other times of day.
You can use these trains to travel from Bukit Tengah to Butterworth, Bukit Mertajam, Tasek Gelugor, Sungai Petani, Gurun, Kobah, Alor Setar, Anak Bukit, Arau, Bukit Ketri and to the last stop, terminating at the Thai / Malaysian border at Padang Besar.
You can also use these services to travel further south to the state of Perak on another Komuter service that originates at Bukit Mertjam (BM).
First, you will have to take the train to BM (apart from a few services a day that originate from Butterworth), where you change trains for Komuter services south to Padang Rengas, stopping at :
Bukit Tengah ETS Trains
As already mentioned, the long distance ETS Trains to places like Ipoh and KL Sentral in Kuala Lumpur, currently do not stop at Bukit Tengah, so you should first take a Komuter Train (or local bus) to Bukit Mertajam Station, where all ETS services heading both north and south stop.
Buying KTM Bukit Tengah Train Tickets
If you plan on travelling on the Komuter services, tickets are only available on the day of travel, so you just need to buy your tickets from the counter for the next train.
If you plan on using the ETS Trains from Bukit Mertajam, you should book your tickets in advance as these trains can often be fully booked during the busy holidays, weekends and religious festivals.
Tickets are available from any mainline KTMB station counter in advance (booking periods vary), or you can:
