The KLIA and klia2 are principally setup as 2 terminals in same area separated by a 2km distance. It is estimated to take 4 to 10 mins, depending on transport options, to travel between these 2 terminals.
Please exercise proper time management and allocate enough buffer to ensure a smooth transfer.
Transportation options to travel between these 2 terminals
- Free Shuttle Bus – available around the clock, 10 mins bus ride, free
- Inter-Terminal Rail Transfer – 4 mins train ride, RM2.00
- Airport Liner Bus – 10 mins bus ride, RM2.50
Note: If you take the Inter-Terminal Rail Transfer or the Airport Liner, you will have to complete proper immigration check-out from one terminal and then check-in to another to board your connecting flight.
The bus from klia2 to KLIA will drop you at the KLIA bus station located at level 1 of KLIA’s Main Terminal Building.
The bus from KLIA to klia2 will drop you at Transportation Hub at klia2 terminal.
Free Shuttle Bus
Passengers with inter-connecting flights between KLIA and klia2 can now enjoy the new round-the-clock shuttle transfer services between the two terminals free of charge. The free 24/7 shuttle buses runs every 10 minutes.
To enjoy the service, Just wait at the designated pick-up points at both terminals and board the bus when it arrives.
For KLIA: The waiting area at KLIA is located at Door 4, Level 1 of Main Terminal Building.
For klia2: The waiting area at klia2 is located at Bay A10, Level 1, Transportation Hub, Gateway@klia2 mall.
The shuttle route is from KLIA – klia2 – Long Term Car Park (LTCP) – KLIA. This service is available at the frequency of every 10 minutes from all stops.
Free 24/7 shuttle service is provided for transfer between KLIA and klia2 for passengers with interconnecting flight.
The counter to help the passengers to transfer between KLIA and klia2 terminal is located at the KLIA’s Main Terminal Building and klia2’s Arrival Hall.
Please check with the customer service officer if you need help on arrangement for fast transfer between terminals.

Inter-Terminal Rail Transfer
To travel quickly between the KLIA and klia2, you can take the Express Rail Link (ERL) train (KLIA Transit or KLIA Ekspres) at the ERL station of respective airport.

The ERL train is a fast and convenient travel option for inter-terminal transfer.

Airport Liner Bus
The Airport Liner buses performs regular shuttle services between the klia2 and KLIA terminals.
At the KLIA, the Airport Liner buses are available at platform 10, 11, and 12 at the KLIA Bus Station.
At the klia2, the Airport Liner buses are available at klia2’s Transportation Hub.
