The Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (klia2) is built to be Malaysia’s Next Generation International Airport Hub that allows seamless connectivity for both local and international low-cost & full-service carriers.

The klia2 terminal is designed to cater for the explosive growth in low-cost travel industry, and it is scaled to accommodate 45 million passengers a year. The klia2 started operating on May 2, 2014.

The klia2 comprises of the Main Terminal Building (MTB), Skybridge, Satellite Building, connected Piers (J / K / L / P / Q) and a Gateway@klia2 shopping mall with attached car park facility, plus impressive retail space of 32,000 sqm.

Border Reopening

On March 8, 2022, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that the country’s borders would be reopened from April 1 in line with the country’s plan to enter the transition period to the endemic phase of Covid-19.

With this announcement, Malaysia will be fully reopened its borders on April 1, 2022, dropping quarantine requirements for people vaccinated against COVID-19 after two years of strict travel restrictions. Read more news about border reopening.
