Construction of Malaysia’s klia2 low-cost air terminal is 92% completed and its terminal building is 96% completed with major packages completed.
These are the district cooling system, Express Rail Link track, taxiway linking runway two to klia2, air traffic control tower, traffic control equipment installation, elevated roads to the terminal, eastern aircraft parking apron and the main drainage and utility works.
Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Abdul Aziz Kaprawi said on Monday that “there will absolutely be no more delays nor cost increases.”
“The cost is capped at plus minus RM4bil pending finalisation of our accounts,” he said at a press conference on Monday.
Abdul Aziz is heading the airport’s task force, which held the third meeting on Monday on the progress of the terminal.
In a statement, he said work components which were delayed would be reviewed by Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) klia2 project team.
The phases of the projects which had been delayed could reassigned to third party contractors if the contractors could not meet the deadlines.
